Suzan MoldenhauerHi. I’m Suzan Moldenhauer. I’m dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate the complexities of relationships and the emotional challenges that come with them.

As humans, we’re hardwired for relationships, yet we don’t come with a manual for how to create satisfying ones—or how to repair them when things go off track. Relationships can bring us tremendous joy and connection, but they can also leave us feeling hurt, confused, disconnected, or unsure of what to do next.

My work focuses on helping people navigate these difficult relationship moments.

In couples counselling, I draw on Gottman principles and Emotionally Focused Therapy to help couples understand the patterns that keep them stuck, rebuild trust, and create a stronger, more connected relationship.

Sometimes, however, one partner isn’t sure they want to continue the relationship. Discernment Counselling offers a different approach for couples facing this difficult crossroads. Rather than assuming both partners are ready to work on the relationship, the focus is on gaining clarity about what each person wants and what path forward feels right.

I also work with individuals who are struggling in their relationships. Together, we can explore the patterns and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck, develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, and help you move toward healthier, more fulfilling connections.

And for those experiencing family estrangement, I offer compassionate support for the unique pain of losing contact with someone you love. If you are living with the heartbreak of an adult child or other family member choosing no contact, you don’t have to navigate that experience alone. My own experience with estrangement, combined with my training and understanding of the research, informs the way I support people through the uncertainty, grief, and complexity of estrangement.

I absolutely love what I do. Whether you’re struggling in your relationship, questioning whether to stay, trying to understand patterns that keep repeating, or finding your way through estrangement, counselling can offer a place to slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and find a way forward.

You’ve come to the right place.

I truly believe your life can get better. Changing your life will take work, and it will be difficult,
but it is absolutely possible. I am here to help make that happen.
