About Me
My Story
As far back as I can remember, I have always wanted to be in a helping profession. It’s the core of who I am; I am a genuine and compassionate person who cares deeply in helping others who are struggling. I knew in my teenage years I wanted to be a counsellor, but for many reasons, that was not the path I followed. It was later in life when I went through some personal challenges and hardship, that my long-held and deeply felt dream to become a counsellor was ignited.
I went back to school and received my Diploma in Applied Psychology and Counselling. I have a private practice in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, BC with a special interest in working with individuals who are struggling with body image and/or eating disorders as well with couples who are struggling in their relationship.
Life hasn’t always been easy for me. I have faced many challenges that I have had to overcome. These personal struggles offered me the opportunities for profound personal growth and are part of the foundation for my compassionate approach to counselling.
I am the mother of three adult children. I have great admiration and pride when I look at their lives and see how caring, kind, and driven they each are. I am in a committed and loving relationship that is full of fun, romance, and adventure. I am so blessed to be loved and supported by such a caring partner.
In my spare time, I enjoy all things outdoors. I am so fortunate to live in the Comox Valley; a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. I am my happiest when I am in nature. Yoga and meditation help keep me centered and grounded.
